The School Council

Miss Thwaites helps us with our School Council.  We have two elected members on the council from FS2 to Y6.  The Council meets once every two weeks.  We are proactive within the school.  We have  previously organised Children in Need,  a Christmas Fundraising Event.  We had great fun making glittery play dough and reindeer food.  We raised £27 and bought an additional game for the Wi fit for wet playtime.  Also we organised Comic Relief Day and the end of year disco.

Playground Buddies

The School Council decided to introduce buddies into the playground.  We check that people are playing nicely, look after people who have fallen over and speak to people if they are lonely.

What do you think of the buddies?

Let your Class Rep know!

The School Council also decided to apply for the Eco-Schools award.

The school already does so many things to help the environment!

We have a vegetable garden where we grow things like potatoes and sunflowers.

We recycle our paper and compost our fruit!

The Eco-Warriors are aiming for their second green flag award at the moment. See there page in the 'Clubs' section for even more information.

We have also been discussing ideas left in the suggestion boxes.

You would like:

- more games painted on the playgrounds

- bird feeders outside the bungalow

- goal posts for the field

- toilets refurbished

- even more after school clubs

- fruit for KS2

- more trees and flowers around the school grounds

If you can think of any more ideas then write it down on a piece of paper and put it in the suggestion box in your classroom!
