What is Eco-Schools?

The Government in England wants every school to be a sustainable school by 2020.  Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles

into the heart of school life.

There are 3 awards to earn:
The Bronze Award was earned in March 2008
The Silver Award was earned in March 2009
The Green Flag was earned in May 2010
Our second Green Flag was earned in July 2012!
Have a look at our Action Plan at the bottom of the page to find out the projects we will be working.

What have we done so far?

Improved the school grounds by building our school garden

Biodiversity - finding out about minibeasts!

The school grounds - improving the quad

Litter picking

We have a big problem with litter around the school grounds. The Eco-warriors try their best to pick up as much possible. Most days they come back with a whole bag full of rubbish! Where does it come from?

For more information visit the Eco-Schools website: If you are another school hoping to join Eco-Schools then please feel free to contact Carnagill and we will help you as much as possible. Email
