Welcome to Class Y4/5 O'R

In Year 4/5 O our teacher is Mrs O’Reilly, with Mrs White and Mrs Raisbeck as additional adults working in our class.

Our class is warm, bright and full of energy, with every member valued. It is a busy and happy classroom. All class members are challenged and encouraged to be more independent. We work well together as a team and enjoy helping each other. The environment in our classroom is lively and helps us to share our learning with each other. We love adding ideas to the working walls and using these to help us remember what we are learning. We use these displays, together with a range of resources in the classroom and different technology, to ensure we succeed and have fun in our learning.

We have a reading corner that helps us to share our love of reading with each other. We encourage reading at home each day and the opportunity to express creativity further through topic related homework. Every Friday children have a spelling test and we practise our times tables daily using Times Table rock stars. Parents, can you please ensure your child has time at home to practice for these tests and ensure their homework is returned to school at the beginning of each week.

Please make sure the children bring their PE kit in on a Monday and take it home on a Friday. PE kit is dark shorts, white t-shirt and plimsolls or trainers. We also recommend a jumper and jogging bottoms for colder days. They will also need their swimming kit for swimming on a Tuesday afternoon during the Autumn term.

In the coming academic year 2018-2019 we plan to cover a variety of great topics, always with a focus subject. We will have lots of opportunities to create and experience some exciting things! For more information on what is in store for Class 4/5 O please see the long term plan.

If at any time you wish to discuss your child's work and progress please feel free to make an appointment to see Mrs O’Reilly.
