Welcome to Y2/3B

Our teacher is Mrs Bradshaw and our teaching assistant is Mrs Hannon.

We have lots of fun and helpful resources in our classroom to help us learn, including our working walls which we are very proud of when our work is displayed for everyone to see. Our reading garden gives us a chance to relax and have some quiet time.

Happy New Year!

This term our topic is “Time Travellers”. In History we will be looking at The Stone Age, and reading about Ug: The boy of the Stone Age in English. Our Maths block will be looking at place value and the four main operations of Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division.

In Science we have started investigating about the different types of rocks – have a look at the fun we have had so far this term!

Our classroom is warm, friendly and colourful. Have a look at some of the work we have done this year!

12.1.18 - School trip to Jorvik Centre

With our topic being about The Stone Age, we travelled back in time to The Jorvik Centre and DIG! Museum in York to look at the past and what people in different ages ate and wore, as well as having a chance to become archaeologists for a time!

We learnt lots of great facts and this is ready to help us learn more about the past.

Launch day 1.11.17

Our topic in class this half term is Potions! As part of this, our launch day last week showed the school how many witches and wizards were around! The children wrote a potion about how to turn their teacher into a toad, created wands and designed broomsticks. The day was finished off with a witch fashion show and graduation ceremony showing the children were ready to start learning about potions! Look at how much fun we had!

Foxglove Covert.

The children in class 2/3B enjoyed a trip to Foxglove Covert as part of our topic on Enchanted Woodland. We went pond dipping to catch beetles, water snails and pond skaters, completed a mini -beast hunt and went on a woodland walk to learn about plants, animals and the local area.

Science fair - 5.4.17

Our landing pad for this half term was a science investigation on looking at how to change the colour of eggs. The children learnt to dye hard - boiled eggs using food colouring, hot water and vinegar. The results were great; have a look at the colours the children made by changing the amount of food colouring and how long the eggs were left in the water for.

The children enjoying acting like cats during our PE lessons! We listened to music from the musical CATS and studied how a cat would walk, move and act.
